In School After Pandemic

It is Rachel back with another video here on live study hacks. Today, we will be talking about a huge problem that is still affecting our day to day lives. And that is livestudyhackers the post pandemic school and life. Before we get started, just a reminder to help support our channel and charity Children of incarcerated parents, please make sure to subscribe and like this video, more information is on my website linked down below. So let’s go on to this video. So to break it to you all, we are experiencing the post era of Covid 19. And for high schoolers and middle schoolers it is really hard to keep our mental health in check. As many of you guys know, all of us are now in the midst of full fledged school, it has been difficult to adapt coming back from a whole year of being virtual. As a sophomore in high school, I have personally been experiencing extreme workload and it is harder and harder to stay strong and move on each academic day. And I know it is not just for highschoolers, it is for everyone who is going back to work. We have fears about what others think of us and whether we are going to get good grades. So in today’s video I will give you all some helpful tips and tricks that can ultimately help fight off post covid anxiety. So let’s get started!

The first tip I have for you all is always to be mindful of your emotions. Try to figure out what you are feeling everyday. Are you disappointed, Are you stressed, or Are you extremely happy? It is really important to know what you are feeling, so you know what to do when you are feeling down. For me when I feel sad during school,  I usually just talk to myself and try to encourage myself to keep on going no matter what the circumstances are. You have to try and try to keep on trying, that means you have to fail once in a while. I also have conversations with my friends, sometimes we just talk and try to make each other feel better. We encourage each other and laugh. For me that always makes me feel happy no matter what.Another emotion that you should be aware of is to ask yourself if you are taking on too much stress that you can not even handle, and that livestudyhackers is a whole different story. As teenagers it is important to keep your mental health in check, and I am not saying you shouldn’t push yourself . By all means challenging yourself in most cases helps you do better, but do not do it to the extent that you are burning yourself out. Take breaks and recognize your limits. You do not have the most perfect person out there, we are humans, we make mistakes. But we have to get back on our feet to keep trying.Even Simone Biles during the Olympics made that decision for herself, all eyes were on her, she was the Goat but she decided what was best and actually listened to her mental health. That was a hard decision but she did it, and that was some bravery. I would like to close with this tip, by saying that we always do not have to be the best and there are going to be times we fail, cause we can not win if we do not fail.

Like I mentioned before I want you all to know that through this post covid stress and new variant practically scaring us all. It is important to remember to know that we are not in this alone. Many of us thought that if we go back to school the loneliness from lockdown will go away, however that pressure for many still exists. It is hard to reintegrate to this new school life, like I mentioned before as teens it is important to have a support group. It could simply be some group of friends. In picking friends, make sure that they are respectful, authentic, kind, and accepting. And also as teens it is important to build relationships with adults because they build your character and personality. When looking for adults make sure that they seem predictable and their limits are consistent. With these adult relationships you exhibit something called relentless building in which you tend to discover yourself. Another advantage of having people in your life is you can limit this sort of stress response from the amygdala that most teenages have. In this method we tend to fight, flight, freeze and release stress hormones that cause us to become tired and less motivated. So having someone to talk to that is patient with you will help you feel alleviated from these stress responses.

I would like to close this video with a few final tips. To help you all keep busy, and ultimately make yourself feel happy. You must first  isolate yourself from any screen, engage yourself with others and socialize. It is something we missed during covid so do not miss the opportunity to do that. Number 2, do some sort of volunteer work/get a job that helps you stay engaged with the community, you will see how your simple work is impacting the community. Finally, I  just want to say that I hope everyone stays safe during this new corona variant omicron that is happening right now while I am recording, and please everyone kids, adults, and teens please get vaccinated to continue to stop the spread of the virus.
