How To Do Homework Fast

Hi everyone! It is Rachel back with another video here on live study hacks. Do you know the famous Theodore Roosevelt and the current Isreali Prime minister finished school with a lot of activities already in their plate but still managed to score A’s in their final report card. Theodore Roosevelt knew how to act in the midst of pressure. And the Isreali Prime minister Benjamin Netanyhu, who graduated from the prestigious MIT, completed the whole college course in 2 years. Well have you wondered how you can get closer to these people’s study work ethic. Today we will be going over just that, so have a paper ready or merely listen to these tips so you can implement it. Okay now on this video!!

You must Clean your desk

First thing first, It is important before beginning your study sessions that you have clear space to work. Clear space means a clear mind. I find that it is just a habit for me to clean up my desk. It is kinda like starting off with a clean slate. So do a quick cleaning before your study sessions. And during this time, remember to keep your phone or any distracting devices away when you are  doing deep studying. Also FYI, cleaning your desk has many proven benefits such as it is easier to focus, you actually have room to do work, less stress, and less time for looking for the things you need.

Have everything you need

Make sure to have a jug of water right in front of you, so you do not have to get up. And have a goal to drink as much water while you’re studying, because water can be effective. I know that some people tend to make Study snacks, so have that  if you ever are hungry. Essentially have everything you need so you do not have to get up, and get distracted. Either that may be a textbook, notebook, binder, a pencil.  Just take 5 minutes to have everything right there.

Prioritize your homework

Now that you have everything, you must get a piece of paper or a google doc, and list all of things you have to do. Then prioritize them from the most urgent/ time-consuming to the easiest. I personally failed to do this when I was in middle school, I would tend to do my homework in the order of my classes. I learned from my mistake, and looked back on how I procrastinate really hard. SO PLEASE AND PLEASE PRIORITIZE IT SAVES SO MUCH TIME!!!! Once you prioritize, set a time limit for each of your assignments. Also I know Some people who prefer task management systems like asana, to-doist, or google calendar. If you find that this works for you, go ahead and try it! It is important that when trying these things that you are getting results. Also for middle-schoolers or high schoolers who are studying, look at your genesis or parent portal where your teacher lists their assignments, and your google calendar on your school account because most of the time it is connected to google classroom. And just double check that you have everything and you are not forgetting anything.

Start studying with set a timer and take breaks

Hopefully by now you have your list down. Now you can start studying! Yay! Follow your set time limit on your list. Some people prefer the pomodoro technique when studying you can try  it and see if it works for you. Where I believe you have 20 minutes or more, and have a 5 minute break. During your break/rewards you can make a cup of tea, dance break, or read a book. At most your rewards should be about 10 minutes because you could get distracted.

Have a set study strategy, write questions, and make note what you have to do the next day

There are many strategies out there for studying.  What I found is that most people find that when you can divide a huge amount of work into smaller pieces. It doesn’t really seem too overwhelming.  I heard someone tell me that quizzes need 2 days, and tests need 4 days. So do not procrastinate and study now! Also something which I found that was helpful was writing down questions as you go. And writing irrelevant thoughts while you are studying because sometimes it will help you remember things faster down the line. With your questions, you can ask your teacher, just a side note the questions not only helps you, but shows the teacher that you are actively engaged in the concepts taught. So after your study session, make note what you have to complete the following day. And that is pretty much it for studying, but wait actually no we have something else, please stick to the end to hear these bonus tips!!!!

Welcome to the bonus part of this video, so for before you start studying to limit the amount of time spent on your homework please record every step of each problem when your teacher is teaching especially for math and physics problems. Even when you understand it! Now after trying to preview your assignments after class and refamiliarize, it cuts down the lag time, when you are studying them, because you have to refer to the page number again, so it is really a pain. So make your life easier. Now when you are studying and doing your homework, there is a technique I found on a Thomas Frank video called the focus and diffuse mode, so you look at the difficult problem a.k.a eating the frog first, then looking at the easy problems, going back to the challenging problem. Looking at the easy ones, is basically diffusing your brain.Lastly remembering to music, do not listen to music with words in it but rather instrumental!

Well thank you for reaching the end of the video. And I hope you found it helpful If you like these types of videos, please give it a like, and please subscribe to stay updated with my channel. See you soon! Bye!!! 🙂
