Hi everyone! It is Rachel back with another video here on live study hacks. To begin, I would like to say that if you want to compete vigorously at school it is not only about you studying, but also it is about making healthy food choices. And please don’t just take my words for this, it is proven by so many other people. For example, many exercise trainers preach the following ideals when clients ask them how to get results. The trainers often tell their clients that exercising is only 10% of the work, but 90% is their healthy eating habits if they want to get results. I would probably say something similar in the studying aspect. Many athletes eat a healthy meal so they focus on the upcoming games that they have. For example the renowned Lebron James eats chicken, rice, and veggies and Micheal Phillips eats oatmeal, fruits, and bagels before a game, all very healthy options. These wise choices that athletes make later impact their performance, and help them get to the level they are at right now. However this is not just for athletes it is practically for anyone who is a high achiever. But never fear, you can get to that level! So in today’s video I will be sharing some foods you can incorporate to your diet, so as middle schoolers you can see results in your grades. So let’s get onto this video.
The first food you should try to incorporate in your diet is fish. Fish is an excellent source of omega 3 for your body. You may ask what omega 3 is, it is practically a family of important fats that you must obtain in your body. This is important because 60% of your brain is made out of fatty acids. And half of it is Omega 3 that comes from fish. Also the incorporation of fish into your diet allows you to lower the risk of learning impairment. A study has shown that those who eat baked/boiled fish have this sort of grey matter, which is when nerve cells fire up that allow you to have better memory, decision making skills, and emotions. I would say fish is one of the best healthy options out there.Next
I would say nuts is another important food to have, it allows for better brain function and helps the nervous system. Nuts contain Vitamin E that improves cognition. Some Nuts with the highest benefits are almonds, hazelnuts, and walnuts. After my favorite are fruits and vegetables these are the essence to any good diet that any middle schooler should have. Did you know eating half an orange can give you all the vitamins you need for a day? Yeah that was really surprising when I first learned about it. Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants, and reduce the risk of cognitive impairment. It allows for communication with neurons and helps with memory and numerical functions. Some fruits and vegetables I suggest you should try and are highly beneficial are blueberries. Blueberries are the powerhouses, and many neuroscientists call blueberries brain berries. They help the brain in numerous ways, and then I would suggest for vegetables it would be Broccoli. Broccoli again helps improve memory and allows a maintained blood circulation. And also if you get cut or hurt, Broccoli can allow this wound to help heal for themself without any further medical treatment. So broccoli is the way to go. Some other fruit and vegetables that I would mention that also bring amazing results are bell peppers, guava, kiwki, and tomatoes. That’s it for fruits and vegetables. So I would like to summarize these important and highly significant foods to incorporate and you should most definitely have in any middle school diet. 1. Fish 2. Nuts 3. Fruit and vegetables.
We are now going to talk about some other worthy mentions that also are great to have and eat. Eggs and Legumes which are rich in folate. Mint which has Vitamin A and Vitamin C. Vitamin A helps with learning power. And mint has a benefit which is basic clerical skills like typing and memorization. Then there are Beets which increase brain power, blood flow, and help with executive functions. Seeds are also a great rich mix of Omega 3 especially sunflower seeds. Seeds have an amount of Zinc that helps with Memory and Thinking Skills.Quinoa has fiber with essential glucose and it is important to soak it before using it. Avocados have Omega 3, and are unsaturated and help lower cholesterol. It has Vitamin E and is a good source of Potassium. Lastly, Coconut Oil helps the body with energy with the brain and it is beneficial with blood pressure, heart and circulation, and it is anti inflammatory.
I would like to close this video off with some things you should keep in mind with the list of food I shared. Food helps with simple tasks, and even though your brain may weigh less, it consumes 20% of the calories you eat, the healthier foods you eat the sharper you become. You must eat for maximum energy. Health comes from the word well, so you must get a good feeling after trying healthier foods. And eat 40-50% of live food. You should try to avoid dead food, and have fruit and vegetables. Eating bad food can bring bad enzymes to your body, and it takes away some energy. So remember food is for energy, and do not allow the food you eat to take that energy away from you.
